Book Review: Everything is Marketing: The Ultimate Strategy for Dental Practice Growth by Fred Joyal

One of the greatest tools out there for dental geeks like us comes in the form of a book by CEO and co-founder of 1-800-DENTIST®, Fred Joyal.

Fred’s association with the dental industry is huge: in focus group after focus group with dental consumers, his name ALWAYS comes up. Through millions of dollars worth of TV media buys, Fred does a great job of keeping the importance of seeing your dentist top of mind with the general public.

Everything is Marketing features more than just a road map for dentists to successfully market their practices; it also details Fred’s personal experience with his clients. This book made me sympathetic to the plight of the dentist who just wants to come into the practice on a day-to-day basis and do good clinical work. Even in these tough economic times, there are great resources available for dentists to cost-effectively market their practices to attract new patients and maintain existing ones. The book is not cluttered with”MBA speak” and can be easily read in one sitting. Dare I say it, this book would be extremely helpful to a dental practice that cannot afford a practice management consultant, as well as the practice that does have one!

A lot of Fred’s suggestions are bulletproof, based on solid and well-grounded thinking. I enjoyed getting inside the dentist’s head and experiencing her day-to-day worries.

When it comes to dental marketing, Fred is indeed the man. Should you have the chance to meet with him in person, his passion for the field of dentistry will be evident.

Needless to say, I highly recommend reading the book. It is available through www.Amazon.com and also in Kindle format. Luckily, I have both. Please feel free to comment if you have read the book as well.
