The Dental Geek’s TOP 5 Favorite Consumer Dental Products

This geek gets a lot of emails with respect to: What do you like to use for oral health home care? What brands/products do you use and why?

Well, here you go. These are my favorites. Again, this is my personal opinion and NO ONE paid me to say this. Would love to hear from Geek Followers what products they like.

1. Colgate Total® Advanced Pro-Shield™ Mouthwash

I have finally found a mouthwash that a) tastes great, b) feels like it is working and c) keeps my fresh breath for hours…even after multiple coffees. I will be a loyalist of this rinse as long as it is out.

2. Sunstar G•U•M® Soft-Picks®

I am addicted! Of all the portable flossers, interproximals, interdentals…THESE COMPLETELY ROCK. I always keep a set in my car…use them everyday on my commute. The softness of the bristles paired with the strength to get into tight spaces is amazing.

3. Weleda Salt Toothpaste

Call me crazy…but I love the feel (post-brushing) that this dentrifice provides. I have been using it for 5 years now and it keeps my real and restored teeth sparkling white. I like the taste…but others may disagree. Thankfully, I can get it online…otherwise it’s off to Whole Foods I go!

4. The RADIUS Source Toothbrush

I travel a lot – I mean a lot, a lot! I cannot take my Sonicare everywhere I go…so I bring along my RADIUS Source Toothbrush. The handle is made from recycled money and I think that is incredibly COOL. The brush head is large and soft. I feel good about using renewable materials…but I feel better about a durable toothbrush that is going to travel hundreds of thousands of miles with me!

5. Trident® Layers™ Sugar Free Chewing Gum

Sugar Free gum is an excellent way to increase saliva production that helps clear surfactants off your teeth. I just discovered the new “GreenAppleGoldenPineapple” flavor. Each time, I feel like I am swept away to a tropical location or having a really fresh smoothie. Love it, Love it, Love it!

There you go…five of my favorite home care, oral health products. PLEASE share with me yours…I haven’t tried everything yet…but as The Dental Geek, I am willing to try them all!

  2. Wow really very nice article and rightly ranking of products are shown ,I am using Weleda Salt Toothpaste for very long time and really its really very effective as nowadays every tooth pest band are coming with their SALT vertical but I am not going to replace Weleda Salt Toothpaste from my home. Trident® Layers™ Sugar Free Chewing Gum is a new product for me but for sure I will try it my own. Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful and informative article

  3. I like to use Colagate total as it gives fresh long lasting breath. The other products you have mentioned here are also very popular and useful. Just I need to add a point that nowadays, there are numerous dental care product available in the market so better to seek advice from an expert dentist before choosing the one for your oral care.

  4. The tips given in the article are really useful. I think proper dental care is the key to prevent all dental problems. From childhood, parents need to make their children follow healthy eating habits and should teach them proper brushing habits. This can prevent many dental problems. The points you have mentioned about dental care are really important.
